Headed by Dr Erasmas Muganda, The ENT Group Otology Department has the primary objective of setting the standard in the management of diseases of the ear.
Dr Erasmas Muganda He is the first and only Neurotologist in Zimbabwe and the first African trained Neurotologist. He attained his MBChB from the University of Zimbabwe in 2008. He finished his Residency in ENT in 2018 when he attained the Fellowship of the College of Otorhinolaryngologists in South Africa. Early in his residency, he wanted to dedicate himself to Otology. After being registered as an ENT Specialist in 2019, he went to Yonsei University in South Korea, for a fellowship in Otology (Dizziness and Endoscopic Ear Surgery) in 2020. In 2021, he received a formal invitation to be the first Otology fellow trained in Africa by Professor Tashneem Harris in Cape Town, South Africa and he gladly grabbed the opportunity. He completed the fellowship which was intense, one-on-one, patient- centered ,practical training. Dr Muganda has started doing Cochlea Implants on his own in Zimbabwe and Botswana.
He is currently the Operations Director with The ENT Group, which is an Ear, Nose & Throat, Head & Neck clinic, working as a group practice. Dr Muganda works as an ENT, Head & Neck Consultant at Sally Mugabe Central Hospital since 2020. He is a Wizear ENT Consultant who is responsible for technical advise and day-day running of the Wizear charitable organisation. He also works as a part-time lecturer responsible for teaching Undergraduate and Postgraduate students at the University of Zimbabwe.
